What
is Bowen Therapy?
A Bowen session consists of a series
of light precise moves on specific points of the body.
It allows the body to heal itself. It involves very
gentle but direct manipulation of muscles, tendons,
fascia, ligaments, joints and nerves. A treatment is
very relaxing.
What
Bowen Therapy can help with?
• Back pain, sciatica & spinal problems
• Headaches & migraines
• Shoulder, ankle & knee injuries
• Sports & whiplash injuries
• Anxiety & stress related conditions
• Chronic fatigue & ME
• Hormonal imbalances
• Respiratory conditions & sinus
• Post operative recovery
• Post dental trauma, temporomandibular joint
problems & joint disorders
• Newborn baby problems eg colic, feeding &
sleep related conditions
• Gynaecological conditions, heavy/painful periods,
infertility
• Repetitive strain injuries & carpal tunnel
• General muscle stiffness & many more......
What
to expect from a treatment?
The therapist uses her thumbs or fingers on certain
points around the body mostly directed on muscle. A
client will be asked to take deep breaths before a move
which encourages the muscle and body to relax. In between
moves the therapist will leave the room to give time
for a response to take effect. The moves are gentle
and the client should experience little or no pain although
certain areas might be sensitive.
