Biodynamic
Massage
uses a variety of massage techniques to restore healthy
flow of energy around the body. It sees ill health as
an imbalance or blockage in energy, by working with
these imbalances accumulated tensions can be released
and health restored. It aims to treat the person as
a whole, including both physical and emotional aspects
in the treatment.
Biodynamic
Massage can be used to treat stress, aches and pains,
headaches, digestive problems, insomnia, depression
and anxiety. It can help people to relax, to increase
energy levels and feel good in their bodies.
Reflexology
is a system of healthcare that works by stimulating
the many nerve endings in the feet. These nerve endings
or 'reflex points' are related to various zones of the
body.
The
reflex points are stimulated by a specific pressure
technique applied by the thumb or forefinger. Reflexology
has emerged from the healing traditions of various countries;
similar forms of foot stimulation are known to have
existed in Egypt and India, amongst others, many hundreds,
if not thousands, of years ago.
The
stimulation of the reflex points is interchanged with
various foot massage techniques that serve to loosen
and relax not only the feet but also the legs and the
rest of the body. This is useful in both promoting relaxation
and benefiting poor circulation.
